The Banquet Supervisor role at Invited is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all facets of banquet operations to ensure flawless execution of events and a superior member and guest experience. This role entails managing the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions while strictly adhering to Invited's distinguished service standards. The Banquet Supervisor reports directly to the Banquet Manager, Banquet Director, or Director of Food & Beverage and serves as a key liaison between the banquet team and event sales personnel to coordinate staffing and event logistics. The goal of this role is to ensure efficient and seamless banquet operations by recruiting, developing, and supervising banquet service staff, implementing training programs to maintain high service standards, monitoring event execution, and addressing any challenges that arise during events. This position demands exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally and courteously with members, guests, and team members.

In addition to managing daily banquet operations, the Banquet Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with service and safety guidelines, and supporting the overall efficiency and success of the banquet department. The Supervisor will manage event setup and breakdown, review banquet event orders to confirm room arrangements align with function requirements, oversee the timely and quality service of food and beverages, and handle post-event tasks such as client feedback and accounting paperwork. This role requires flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the demands of the club's event schedule.

Physical demands for this role include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work in diverse environmental conditions, lift and carry heavy items periodically, and perform various physical activities such as climbing, bending, and reaching. The Banquet Supervisor must also possess effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and interact with guests.

Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the restaurant, banquet, or club-related field within the food and beverage industry
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases
  • Capability to climb ladders, squat, kneel, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and fold/unfold as required
  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Effective communication skills including talking and hearing with sufficient visual acuity

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the restaurant, banquet, or club-related field within the food and beverage industry
  • Preferred certifications include Food Handlers Certificate, Alcohol Safety, TABC Certification, CPR Certification, Food Safety Program, and HFWACT
  • Completion of Food Safety and Alcohol Safety training

Job Duties

  • Recruit, develop, and performance manage banquet service personnel according to club procedures
  • Implement and facilitate training programs, including service training, to maintain well-trained staff in-line with Invited service standards
  • Communicate with the Event Sales Director during event preparation to ensure proper staffing and seamless execution of private functions
  • Review banquet event orders (BEO's) and daily logs to understand function details, ensuring room setups correspond with function sheets and making necessary adjustments as required
  • Oversee the timely service of food and beverages, ensuring adherence to Invited standards of service and quality
  • Monitor events to ensure food is served on time, communicate with the event host post-event to confirm their satisfaction, and collect payment, completing necessary accounting paperwork
  • Manage room breakdown and setup based on event details outlined in the function book
  • Execute opening procedures for the banquet department and ensure the room is prepared according to event standards
  • Record relevant information in the MOD log for the next shift
  • Provide a warm welcome by greeting members and guests by name and ensuring their needs are met throughout the event
  • Ensure all side work is completed, including maintaining clean and organized work areas, refilling and stocking containers and supplies, and ensuring sanitary conditions as outlined in the Service standards
  • Interact professionally with members and guests, accommodating changes and last-minute requests as needed
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management
