Currently hiring for the position of Banquet Supervisor at the Hollywood Bowl Amphitheatre, Sodexo invites professionals with a passion for excellence and leadership in banquet and catering services to join their dynamic team. This position offers flexible employment opportunities, including full-time and part-time roles, with competitive pay ranging from $30 to $35 per hour. As a Banquet Supervisor, the successful candidate will be the primary on-site leader responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of banquet and catered event operations. This vital role involves overseeing Banquet Captains and Servers to ensure smooth execution of events according to detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), maintaining high standards of service excellence, and exceeding client expectations.

The Banquet Supervisor works in a fast-paced event venue environment, managing events that vary from intimate meetings to large-scale functions hosting hundreds of guests, with service styles ranging from receptions and buffets to plated and multi-course meals. Beyond leadership duties, the supervisor actively participates in event preparation, setup, service, breakdown, and cleanup while ensuring that all activities comply with safety, sanitation, and staffing guidelines. The role requires exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills to adapt to dynamic event requirements and resolve issues promptly, ensuring client satisfaction and team efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state regulations
  • ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • flexible work availability preferred due to varying shifts and hours
  • other duties may be assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 2-4 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience
  • prior supervisory or leadership experience in banquet or event operations
  • working knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems and event service processes
  • TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) or TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management) alcohol training or equivalent
  • food handler certification may be required based on location

Job Duties

  • Monitor event setup, service execution, and breakdown to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency
  • provide leadership and supervision to Banquet Captains and Banquet Servers
  • ensure compliance with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), client expectations, and service standards
  • manage staffing oversight and operational readiness for events
  • resolve operational issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction
  • support event preparation, setup, service, breakdown, and cleanup activities
  • maintain safety and sanitation standards throughout events
