The Banquet Supervisor role at Sodexo is an on-call, part-time position located at Huntington Place. This role offers a competitive pay rate of $25.00 per hour and requires open availability to cover varying shifts, including days and hours as needed. As a Banquet Supervisor, you are the primary on-site leadership presence overseeing banquet and catered event operations. Your responsibilities revolve around coordinating and supervising Banquet Captains and Servers to ensure flawless event execution aligned with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), service standards, and client expectations. You will manage all aspects of operational readiness, staffing oversight, service delivery, and issue resolution during events. This position demands strong leadership capabilities paired with organizational skills to oversee a wide spectrum of events, from intimate meetings to large-scale gatherings hosting hundreds of guests.

Your role extends throughout all stages of event management, encompassing preparation, setup, active service, breakdown, and cleanup. You will work within an event venue environment and possibly support off-site catered functions. This variety of service styles may include receptions, buffet-style meals, plated dinners, and multi-course events, all requiring your keen attention to detail and commitment to safety, sanitation, and guest satisfaction. You will also be expected to handle any additional duties as needed, adapting to specific client and organizational needs. Job Requirements

  • Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state regulations
  • ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • open availability preferred for varying shifts
  • strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 2-4 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience
  • prior supervisory or leadership experience in banquet or event operations
  • working knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems and event service processes
  • TIPS or TEAM alcohol training or equivalent
  • food handler certification may be required based on location

Job Duties

  • Monitor event setup, service execution, and breakdown to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency
