The Banquet Steward role at Hyatt Regency Minneapolis is critical to the seamless operation of the hotel's banquet and kitchen services. This position primarily focuses on maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety within banquet kitchen areas, dishwashing stations, and storage facilities. The Banquet Steward plays a vital supporting role by collaborating with culinary and banquet teams to ensure all operational needs are met efficiently. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing dishware, utensils, and banquet equipment before, during, and after events, properly storing banquet items, and managing waste disposal in line with hotel and environmental policies. Additionally, the role requires the safe operation of dishwashing machines and the maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting pushing and pulling moderate amounts of weight
  • flexible schedule including availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • willingness to follow safety hygiene and sanitation protocols
  • good communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience in stewarding kitchen cleaning or banquet operations preferred but not required
  • strong teamwork and communication skills

Job Duties

  • clean and sanitize banquet kitchen areas dishware glassware and utensils before during and after events
  • properly store all banquet equipment including plates cutlery trays and buffet setup items
  • ensure dishwashing stations banquet prep areas and storage rooms are clean and organized
  • safely operate and maintain dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment
  • dispose of trash and recycling following property guidelines and environmental policies
  • monitor and restock cleaning supplies dishware and utensils to ensure banquet operations run smoothly
  • work closely with the culinary and banquet teams to support efficient service during events
  • follow all hotel and department safety hygiene and sanitation protocols
  • assist with deep cleaning tasks such as kitchen floors walls and drains as scheduled
