The role of Chef at Marriott Austin Downtown is a vital position within the culinary team, responsible for maintaining excellence in food preparation and kitchen operations. This position acts as the immediate support to the Executive Sous Chef and assumes full responsibility over a culinary outlet or discipline in their absence. The Chef is thoroughly trained in all aspects of food and beverage daily operations, ensuring that the highest standards of quality, safety, and service are met consistently. Job Duties
- Support the chef in developing and representing all food, beverage, and service of the department
- assist with interviews, hire, train, and manage all culinary staff daily
- ensure knowledge of health department, corporate HACCP, food safety SOPs, and federal guidelines
- help organize, oversee, and manage all food prep operations in daily operations
- help create assigned menus, recipes, and use records
- ensure continuous success of kitchen brigade and stations assignments following WLW SOPs
- execute all accounting procedures including checkbook, invoice processing, payroll, inventories, and P&L critiques
