Among its prestigious brands, The Westin Charlotte stands out as a distinguished full-service hotel located in the heart of Charlotte, North Carolina. This vibrant venue offers guests a blend of comfort, luxury, and wellness-focused amenities that align with Westin's mission to empower guests to regain control and enhance their well-being while traveling. Marriott International and The Westin brand take pride in fostering an inclusive environment where the unique backgrounds, talents, and cultures of their associates are celebrated and valued. They are deeply committed to equal employment opportunities and non-discrimination policies, ensuring a diverse and supportive workplace for all employees.
The Westin Charlotte is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of its culinary department. This full-time management position offers an annual salary range of $56,000 to $75,000 with eligibility for bonuses. The Kitchen Manager role is central to ensuring that the kitchen delivers consistent, high-quality food products that exceed guest expectations while maintaining stringent food safety and sanitation standards. This position requires a hands-on leader who can balance direct culinary talents with effective team management, operational budgeting, and strategic planning.
As a Kitchen Manager at The Westin Charlotte, you will be responsible for leading kitchen staff through all phases of food preparation and kitchen operations. You will oversee the scheduling, training, and performance management of kitchen employees to build a cohesive and motivated team. Beyond supervising daily production, you will take an active role in creating and refining menu offerings, developing innovative culinary applications, and enhancing food presentation with artistic flair. Your leadership will ensure that all food handling and storage procedures comply with legal and company standards, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
In this role, you will also act as a role model by demonstrating appropriate workplace behaviors, fostering mutual respect, trust, and cooperation among team members, and driving employee productivity. You will use your interpersonal skills to inspire your team, promote honesty and integrity, and encourage sound financial decision-making in line with operational goals. Supporting the brand's wellness philosophy, you will encourage employees to embrace well-being practices both on and off duty.
Customer satisfaction is paramount at The Westin Charlotte. Therefore, the Kitchen Manager will ensure that all culinary services consistently meet or exceed guest expectations. You will engage directly with guests to gather feedback, manage and promptly resolve complaints, and empower your team to deliver superior service that enhances guest retention. Managing inventory, equipment maintenance, and production needs also fall under your purview, helping to maintain operational excellence and budget adherence.
The Kitchen Manager will participate actively in human resource activities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance appraisals. Identifying staff development needs and fostering ongoing skill enhancement are key to sustaining a professional and proficient culinary team. Attendance at relevant meetings and effective communication with supervisors, peers, and subordinates will be essential to staying aligned with broader organizational objectives.
This role offers a dynamic opportunity to thrive within a globally recognized brand that prioritizes wellness, diversity, and a positive workplace culture. If you are passionate, proactive, and ready to lead with integrity and creativity, The Westin Charlotte invites you to build your career as part of a team that values excellence and personal growth.
