Recognized for its commitment to excellence, the CIA offers a dynamic environment that blends traditional culinary techniques with innovative practices. As an international leader in culinary education, the CIA fosters an inclusive, professional workplace where passion for food and exceptional service are paramount. The institution is committed to nurturing talent and providing students and staff alike with opportunities for growth and development within the foodservice and hospitality sectors.
The position of Banquet Server/Bartender at the CIA is vital in delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role requires individuals who are not only dedicated to quality service but who also thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. With a competitive hourly wage of $26.00, this role offers the chance to be part of a prestigious institution that values hospitality and professionalism. The Banquet Server/Bartender is responsible for ensuring that all guests receive a positive and memorable experience by providing impeccable service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and inventory control.
In this role, you will assist guests proactively by anticipating their needs and functioning as a bartender during events using standardized CIA recipes to prepare beverages. Maintaining a comprehensive food and beverage knowledge base is essential to offering personalized and knowledgeable service. The role requires managing orders in a professional manner, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining control and timing throughout the workstation to guarantee quality service. Additionally, the Banquet Server/Bartender will conduct physical inventory checks, order supplies, and ensure that storage areas and workstations are clean and well-organized. This position also involves setup and breakdown duties to maintain a smoothly operating environment and requires consistent table maintenance according to CIA service standards.
The working conditions for this position include the need to work at both California campus locations. The role demands physical stamina, with the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds (with assistance), and the adaptability to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. Ideal candidates for this position demonstrate strong teamwork, excellent interpersonal skills, high energy, self-motivation, attention to detail, punctuality, and dependability.
