Job Description

Legends Global is a renowned leader in delivering premium services to the world’s greatest live events, venues, and brands. Operating as a fully integrated solutions provider, Legends Global partners with over 450 venues globally, hosting approximately 20,000 events annually and entertaining over 165 million guests each year. Their expertise extends across multiple facets of the live events industry, including feasibility and consulting, owner’s representation, sales, partnerships, hospitality, merchandise, venue management, and content & booking services. The company’s culture is rooted in respect, ambitious thinking, collaboration, and bold action, fostering an inclusive workplace where employees can be authentic, make a meaningful impact, and grow their careers. Teamwork and daily wins are core to Legends Global’s operational philosophy.

Managed by Legends Global, the Wilmington Convention Center is the largest convention center on the North Carolina coast. It offers a unique downtown waterfront venue experience featuring flexible, LEED-certified spaces, modern amenities, and a specialized team dedicated to logistics, catering, and audiovisual services.

The Banquet Server role at the Wilmington Convention Center reports directly to the Food and Beverage Manager within the Food and Beverage department. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position. The Banquet Server is primarily responsible for delivering the highest degree of professional catering service to guests, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and fostering guest retention. The role involves multiple phases of event service, including pre-event setup, active event service, post-event breakdown, and maintaining overall venue cleanliness and order. Attention to detail, strong guest service skills, and the ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced event environment are key attributes for success in this position. Since the venue hosts a diverse array of events, flexibility in working irregular hours, including nights and weekends, is essential.

Banquet Servers will participate in pre-event briefings to understand event specifics, assist in setting up tables and side work, provide friendly and courteous service during events at assigned stations, promptly address and report guest concerns, and handle the breakdown and cleaning of banquet equipment post-event. They are also expected to maintain strict grooming and uniform standards and provide guidance to temporary staff members when assigned. The role does not have supervisory responsibilities but works under the direction of Banquet Captains and the Food and Beverage Manager. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting and carrying moderate weights, and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors as events require. The position is committed to accommodating individuals with disabilities and promotes an equitable and inclusive work environment. The Banquet Server must also obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification within six months of employment, further emphasizing the importance of food safety and professionalism.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a premier venue managed by a global leader in live event services, providing employees with the chance to be part of an inclusive, ambitious, and collaborative culture while advancing their careers in hospitality and event services.
