In line with its mission, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is seeking a dedicated Banquet Server to join the Food Services team in Denver, Colorado. This role is a three quarter-time position offering a competitive wage of $21 per hour. The Banquet Server will play an essential role in the success of catered events held within the museum, ensuring a high standard of guest service and satisfaction. This job involves participation in set-up, service, and break-down phases of banquet functions, requiring excellent teamwork and attention to detail. The Banquet Server is tasked with replenishing food and beverage stations, clearing tables, polishing and presenting glassware and cutlery, setting linens, and performing other duties that facilitate smooth and efficient service. It is also critical for this position to comply with all applicable alcohol service regulations including federal, state, and local laws.

The role demands a highly motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and is attentive to guests' needs and requests, ensuring each visitor receives a friendly and professional atmosphere. Responsibilities include adhering strictly to service policies and etiquette guidelines as described in the Server Training Manual to maintain museum standards. In addition, the Banquet Server assists with room set-up according to specific event diagrams and ensures equipment and items are returned properly after events conclude. This position has varying work schedules depending on event dates and times and requires flexibility and commitment to delivering superior guest experiences. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry moderate weights
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and work collaboratively
  • Must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding alcohol service
