Job Description
The Barfield, Autograph Collection, is a distinguished boutique hotel situated in the heart of downtown Amarillo, Texas. This establishment is renowned for embodying Texas Panhandle hospitality infused with a modern, luxury twist. With 112 stylish guest rooms, The Barfield offers guests a uniquely comfortable and sophisticated experience that stands out in the region. The hotel features Toscana, a refined yet rugged Italian steakhouse, and the Paramount Recreation Club, a speakeasy-inspired venue where history meets innovation in an elegant setting. At The Barfield, guests and staff alike are embraced by an energetic, service-focused culture that celebrates authentic Western charm alongside the highest standards of hospitality and attention to detail.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Server to join our vibrant dining team. The role of the Server at The Barfield is both dynamic and integral to the guest experience – a conductor leading a symphony of service within the dining room. Servers act as the primary point of contact for guests, managing the communication flow between the entire service team while ensuring each guest receives attentive, thoughtful, and empathetic care. This position demands a high degree of emotional intelligence, a strong and confident presence at the table, and comprehensive knowledge of food, wine, and spirits.
Servers are entrusted with creating memorable dining experiences, showcasing professionalism, and executing service with grace and efficiency. The role requires the ability to delegate tasks, prioritize responsibilities swiftly, and maintain composure under pressure. Responsibilities include set-up according to Banquet Event Orders (BEO), maintaining clean and orderly stations, performing in-room clearing and aisle tray breakdown, and assisting banquet captains with buffet setups and takedowns. Guest interaction follows meticulous standards, addressing any service issues with grace and escalating to management when necessary.
The Barfield values individuals who conduct themselves professionally at all times, understanding that their demeanor contributes significantly to the guest experience. Servers maintain a positive, pleasant, sincere, and enthusiastic attitude, consistently delivering top-tier care and service. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business volume and operational needs, offering opportunities for growth and adaptability within the role. This position is an excellent fit for those passionate about culinary service and hospitality, with an exciting opportunity to join a team that brings authentic Western heritage and contemporary luxury together in an inspiring environment.
