Nestled within a vibrant community on Boston's North Shore, Endicott offers a dynamic oceanfront campus that expertly blends academic excellence with hands-on learning experiences. The college prides itself on fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that promotes both student success and employee development. Endicott College is committed to nurturing a close-knit campus community where creativity, professional growth, and teamwork are highly valued. This commitment extends to all aspects of the college, including its various facilities, such as the Wylie Inn and Conference Center, which serves as a hub for conferences, social events, and accommodations.
The Wylie Inn and Conference Center at Endicott College is a premier destination featuring a state-of-the-art IACC certified conference center, an elegant social event venue known as the Upper Manor, and comfortable lodging facilities including an on-site café and bar. Situated within a lush 10-acre property, the venue is not only ideal for hosting conferences and retreats but is also close to notable landmarks such as historic downtown Salem, Cape Ann’s scenic attractions, museums, shopping areas, and a variety of restaurants. The expansive location provides free parking and is easily accessible by public transportation via the Newburyport/Rockport commuter rail line, making it convenient for both employees and guests.
Endicott College is currently seeking full-time Banquet Servers to join the dedicated team at the Wylie Inn and Conference Center. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest service, looking to be part of a collegiate community. The position offers an hourly wage starting at $18.50, which increases to $21.50 for serving at wedding events. The college values its employees and considers various factors such as experience, skills, and equity when determining compensation, ensuring a fair and competitive salary. Working as a Banquet Server involves active engagement with the community, contributing to a lively and welcoming atmosphere at key campus events such as Commencement and Homecoming.
As a Banquet Server, employees play an essential role in delivering exceptional service by setting up banquet rooms meticulously, attending pre-event briefings to understand function particulars, and providing courteous and attentive service to guests throughout each event. Responsibilities include preparing the room with linens, glassware, and service ware, serving food and beverages according to the guidance of the Banquet Captain, and promptly clearing tables to maintain a seamless experience. The position demands adaptability, excellent communication skills, reliability, and a strong customer service orientation. Employees are encouraged to demonstrate initiative, collaborate as team players, and contribute positively to the community spirit within Endicott College. This position does not include supervisory responsibilities but focuses on teamwork, follow-through, and personal leadership.
This role is ideal for individuals who can work effectively under pressure during high-volume events, possess a positive attitude, and meet the physical demands of the job, such as standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 25 pounds while carrying trays of food and beverages. The Wylie Inn and Conference Center emphasizes employee engagement and offers a chance to be part of an exciting and supportive environment where hospitality professionals can thrive while enjoying the natural beauty and cultural richness of the North Shore.
