Job Description

The Elizabeth Hotel and Emporium, a part of Sage Hospitality, is a vibrant and expressive hospitality establishment located in Old Town Fort Collins. This hotel draws inspiration from music, art, and the unique spirit of its location to create memorable experiences for guests. The Elizabeth Hotel is not just a place to stay but a community hub where creativity and connection are fostered through unique events such as live music at the Magic Rat, rooftop cocktails at the Sunset Lounge, and locally inspired cuisine at The Emporium. As a member of Sage Hospitality, the hotel embraces a culture that values individuality, inclusion, creativity, and integrity. The company also prioritizes giving back to the community and delivering extraordinary guest experiences while maintaining a fun work environment.

The role of a Part-time Banquet Server at The Elizabeth Hotel is integral to maintaining the high standards of service that define the guest experience. This position involves providing prompt and courteous food service during banquet events, ensuring that set-up, service, and break-down tasks are performed efficiently and safely. The server is responsible for reading event orders (BEO) and setting up tables correctly to create a seamless and uniform presentation. Attention to cleanliness and order at the service station throughout events is essential, as is assisting in the setup and breakdown of buffets and other special food service arrangements.

Banquet servers are expected to greet and serve guests following established service guidelines, handling food and beverage orders with professionalism and accuracy. This includes adherence to guest check and money-handling procedures during a-la-carte and beverage service. The role requires attentiveness to guests throughout the dining experience to meet or exceed service standards consistently. Flexibility is a key aspect, as shifts may vary to include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with some local travel for outside catering events.

Candidates should possess basic knowledge of customer service principles, food service functions, and restaurant and kitchen operations. The job demands physical stamina, including lifting trays weighing between 20 to 40 lbs, maneuvering in tight spaces, and standing continuously throughout shifts. Organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy, noisy environment are critical, along with strong communication skills and the ability to handle customer issues tactfully.

The Elizabeth Hotel offers a supportive environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth, flexible scheduling to support work-life balance, and various wellness resources such as tuition reimbursement. Additional perks include team meals, travel discounts, and employee recognition programs. Pay for this part-time role ranges from USD 17.50 to USD 18.00 per hour, with benefits including mental health resources, sick and holiday pay, participation in the company 401(k) plan with employer matching, and employee referral bonuses. This position embodies the spirit of hospitality and connection, inviting candidates to contribute their unique skills and enthusiasm to a dynamic team dedicated to exceptional guest experiences.
