The Banquet Server is responsible for meticulous event setup, professional food and beverage service, and timely event breakdowns, all while maintaining a courteous and attentive demeanor. Working collaboratively within a team environment, the Banquet Server helps execute each event flawlessly in accordance with the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and Oak View Group’s rigorous service standards.

This position pays an hourly wage ranging from $30.00 to $36.00 and is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, hospitality-driven environments. The role involves direct interaction with guests, requiring excellent communication and customer service skills to respond to guest needs promptly and with professionalism. Responsibilities include setting up banquet rooms with all necessary furnishings and décor, serving plated meals and buffets, managing beverage stations, and supporting banquet bartenders as needed. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of event spaces and backstage areas is also pivotal. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous banquet, restaurant, catering, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to follow directions and maintain attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain within required timeframe
  • Alcohol service certification required if serving alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to carry trays, move banquet equipment, and perform physical event setup and breakdown

Job Duties

  • Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders, including tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, flatware, and décor
  • Provide professional food and beverage service for plated meals, buffets, receptions, coffee breaks, and beverage stations
  • Serve food and beverages using established service standards and proper serving techniques
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and beverage offerings to answer guest questions
  • Monitor guest needs throughout events and respond promptly to requests
  • Clear tables, refresh beverages, and maintain a clean and organized event space during service
  • Assist with buffet setup, replenishment, and breakdown
  • Support banquet bartenders and beverage stations as needed
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and workplace safety standards
  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and storing banquet equipment and supplies
  • Participate in opening, closing, event setup, and post-event breakdown
  • Maintain cleanliness of banquet rooms, service stations, storage areas, and back-of-house workspaces
  • Work collaboratively with banquet captains, culinary staff, stewards, and other team members to ensure successful event execution
  • Provide exceptional guest service while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
