The Banquet Server position at Valor Hospitality plays a vital role in creating memorable dining and meeting experiences for guests at various properties. Reporting to the Lead Banquet Server, Banquet Captain, and Catering Service Manager, the Banquet Server is responsible for ensuring positive guest interactions through friendly and efficient service. The ideal candidate excels at attentiveness to guest needs, making each individual feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed throughout their event or dining experience. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, such as reviewing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to verify room setups, being knowledgeable about the menu to explain ingredients and preparation methods, and cooperating closely with banquet leadership to accommodate special requirements. Responsibilities include setting tables and glassware according to dining specifications, maintaining cleanliness in the service station, managing the timely delivery and clearing of courses, and handling food and beverage service equipment proficiently. The position requires teamwork and effective communication with management, staff, and guests to ensure seamless banquet operations.
This role requires candidates who are physically capable of standing for extended periods and who can lift between 20 to 40 pounds. Strong English communication skills are essential. - Six months hotel or convention center banquet food and beverage service experience
- Able to read, speak, and understand English

Job Duties
- Check server's and house person's BEOs to ensure that all information is accurate
- Review Banquet Event Orders at the beginning of each shift to ensure room is set as contracted
- Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods
- Be in communication with the Banquet Captain or Lead Server regarding any special needs
- Set tables, glassware, flatware, and silverware per dining rules and specifications
- Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by policies and procedures regarding the service of food and beverage
- Keep station neat and clean while servicing guests per established policies and procedures
- Maintain a proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling guests' needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses
- Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down, buffet or other special food service tables and equipment
- Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up and breaking down buffet or other special food service tables, stations, and equipment
- Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving a-la-carte and beverage orders
- Complete assigned side work
