The Banquet Server position at Pueblo of Sandia is a vital role within the hospitality and events sector, responsible for delivering exceptional service during various banquet events, conferences, and special occasions hosted by the organization. This full-time role requires dedication to ensuring all food and beverage service is executed efficiently and courteously while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the banquet areas. The Banquet Server serves as the frontline representative during events, providing timely, friendly, and professional service to guests. Additionally, the position requires a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to respond empathetically to guest needs and resolve issues promptly.

This role involves preparing banquet rooms with the necessary linens, silverware, china, and glassware; stocking service areas with essential supplies; and assisting in clearing and resetting banquet rooms as needed. The Banquet Server will also participate in daily meetings to understand event directives, complete computer-assisted training, and maintain all equipment in good order. Physical requirements include the ability to handle heavy trays of food, frequent standing, walking, and lifting of up to 30 pounds, making physical stamina crucial. The position also demands punctual and reliable attendance, adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and cooperation with colleagues to provide cohesive service experiences.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Course within 30 days of hire
  • Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
  • Will require pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs
  • Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent preferred
  • One year food or beverage service experience preferred
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with a sense of urgency

Job Duties

  • Serves at food and beverage functions in accordance with banquet event orders, banquet service policies, and banquet management instruction
  • Provides every guest with friendly, professional, courteous and timely service
  • Responsible for greeting guests at assigned tables and providing exceptional service throughout the event
  • Assists in setting banquet rooms with proper linen, silverware, china and glassware as instructed
  • Stocks service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens
  • Bus (remove, replace, and clear) during and after service
  • Assists in clearing banquet rooms at end of service and resetting or refreshing the room for the next event
  • Participates in daily stand-up meetings to ensure proper directives are understood
  • Completes computer-assisted training as required
  • Returns all equipment to proper storage areas and maintains cleanliness and organization
