As a Banquet Server at the Pueblo of Sandia, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to guests during banquet events, conferences, and special occasions. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attentiveness, and efficiency to ensure each guest's experience is memorable and enjoyable. Your responsibilities will include serving food and beverages according to Banquet Event Orders and management instructions, maintaining clean and organized banquet areas, and setting up venues with the appropriate linens, silverware, and glassware. You will be the face of the event, greeting guests warmly, providing courteous and timely service, and assisting with the clearing and resetting of rooms for upcoming events. Teamwork and communication are essential as you collaborate with other staff members to deliver seamless guest service.

This role emphasizes the importance of punctuality, regular attendance, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards, which are fundamental to maintaining the quality of the banquet service. The Banquet Server position is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent customer service skills, a keen eye for detail, and the physical ability to carry out demanding tasks such as lifting heavy trays and working on their feet for extended periods. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Course within 30 days of hire
  • Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License
  • Must be able to pass a stringent background investigation
  • Must undergo pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs and push or pull 100 lbs
  • Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent preferred
  • One year food or beverage service experience preferred
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and balance heavy trays above shoulder
  • Maintains highest standard of personal hygiene
  • Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors

Job Duties

  • Serve at food and beverage functions in accordance with banquet event orders, banquet service policies, and banquet management instruction
  • Provide every guest with friendly, professional, courteous and timely service
  • Greet guests at assigned tables and assist in setting banquet rooms with proper linen, silverware, china and glassware
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens
  • Bus (remove, replace, and clear) during and after service, assist in clearing and resetting banquet rooms
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings to ensure proper directives are understood
  • Complete computer-assisted training as required
  • Return all equipment to their proper storage area and maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Report to work punctually with regular attendance in accordance with attendance policy
  • Perform additional job-related functions as assigned
  • Work collaboratively with team members to deliver the highest degree of service to guests
  • Serve as initial point of contact for guest inquiries, demonstrate empathy and resolve issues promptly
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of all products and services offered
  • Build relationships with guests based on respect and confidence while maintaining a friendly demeanor
