Job Description

The hiring establishment is a reputable hospitality organization that specializes in hosting a wide range of banquet events, from corporate meetings and conferences to weddings and social gatherings. Known for its commitment to excellence and memorable guest experiences, the company operates in a dynamic environment where exceptional service is paramount. As a leading provider of banquet services, the organization emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail to deliver seamless and enjoyable events.

The role of Banquet Server is integral to the success of these events. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, centered on maintaining high standards of service throughout banquet functions. The Banquet Server will be responsible for preparing banquet rooms and tables prior to events, assisting with food and buffet setup before and during the events, and ensuring safe food handling practices are followed at all times. Timely delivery of food from the kitchen or prep area to guests, serving appetizers and plated dinners professionally, and taking and serving drink orders are all essential components of this role.

Beyond basic service, the Banquet Server is expected to respond promptly and satisfactorily to guest inquiries or requests, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. The role also includes post-event duties such as clean-up, inventory management, food storage, and tear-down of banquet setups. Collaboration with team members and supervisors is critical since clear communication ensures smooth operations and guest satisfaction throughout events.

Additionally, the Banquet Server must maintain awareness of workplace safety procedures, working efficiently and safely to protect themselves, their colleagues, and the guests. This includes responding promptly to any hazardous conditions and communicating key issues to supervisory staff. The role also allows for some independent action and initiative, encouraging proactive problem solving when handling duties.

Employment in this role requires flexibility, as work schedules include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on when events are taking place. Candidates should expect to engage with a diverse range of guests and colleagues, bringing a high degree of professionalism and accuracy to their work. Although prior serving experience is preferred, comprehensive training including completion of the Serve-Safe program after hire ensures that all staff meet rigorous food safety standards.

Overall, this position offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals interested in the hospitality industry to develop their skills in a fast-paced, guest-oriented environment. It supports a culture of teamwork and high performance where employees are valued contributors to memorable guest experiences.
