The Banquet Server role is an essential position within the food and beverage department, focused on delivering prompt, accurate, professional, and friendly setup and conference services to hotel and conference guests. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining service standards during events and ensuring that guests receive a high level of attention and satisfaction. The Banquet Server is responsible for assisting servers and bartenders, helping with daily operations, and maintaining food, beverage, linen, and dry goods inventories at par levels.

The scope of the Banquet Server position includes welcoming guests courteously, efficiently managing multiple guests at once, making sure Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) are accurately followed, and consistently adhering to food service, safety, and sanitation regulations, including standards for alcohol service. Candidates will need excellent communication and organizational skills to perform well under pressure and contribute effectively to the team. The role also requires a proactive attitude toward cleanliness, event setup readiness, and teamwork in assisting with side work tasks.

Job Requirements

  • Serving experience preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, and reach continually
  • Ability to lift/push/carry items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in environments with occasional exposure to extreme heat or cold and loud noise
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Positive attitude and teamwork mindset

Job Qualifications

  • Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts and cordial carts
  • Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
  • Respond to guest requests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner
  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas
  • If no upcoming events, please have rooms in a readiness position for any possible site inspections
  • Assist others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently

Job Duties

  • Checks banquet area before, during, and after event for proper set and cleanliness
  • Follows established checklists for opening and closing duties
  • Greets all guests in a courteous and professional manner
  • Handles multiple guests efficiently
  • Ensures all BEO's are followed and serviced in a timely manner
  • Follows all appropriate regulations for food service, safety & sanitation, MSDS, TIPS (alcohol service)
  • Displays excellent communication/organizational skills and proven ability to work under high pressure
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management
