Job Description
The Cincinnati Convention Center, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a prominent and bustling event destination known for hosting a wide variety of events, conventions, and gatherings. This venue is well-regarded for its state-of-the-art facilities and exceptional service standards, making it a preferred location for both local and national events. The Convention Center offers a dynamic work environment where hospitality and customer service are paramount. Working here means being part of a team dedicated to creating memorable experiences for guests and providing exceptional event services. The management team emphasizes continuous training and certifications to ensure that every staff member is equipped with industry-leading knowledge and skills. One of the key partners for food and beverage services at the Cincinnati Convention Center is Levy, a nationally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to outstanding guest experiences and top-tier catering services.
Joining the team as an Event Server at the Cincinnati Convention Center involves delivering excellent service in a fast-paced and professional environment. The role requires a thorough understanding of food safety and alcohol service regulations, as employees must hold valid Alcohol and Food/Servsafe certifications on file. Additionally, all Event Servers must complete Levy's proprietary online training program titled "Creating Legends," along with its accompanying training packet, which helps to instill Levy's high standards for customer service and operational efficiency.
The Event Server position is focused on providing an elevated level of customer satisfaction through attentive service. Responsibilities include welcoming guests with a friendly demeanor, taking food and beverage orders, serving both plated meals and cart service, and ensuring the removal of dishes between courses to maintain a clean and orderly dining area. Servers are expected to assist in setting and clearing tables and to monitor buffet stations to keep them well-stocked and organized throughout events.
Physical stamina is important for this role, as servers will be on their feet for the duration of their shift and may need to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds. Familiarity with the steps of service and an ability to work efficiently in a busy, often high-pressure environment are essential to success. Attention to cleanliness and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols are critical components of the job.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a hands-on role in hospitality with a reputable company. It is ideal for those who enjoy working as part of a team and have a passion for delivering top-quality guest experiences. Employment type is typically part-time and may include shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate event schedules. Salary is competitive within the event service industry, and workers gain valuable experience in hospitality and customer service that can serve as a foundation for career growth within Levy or other hospitality organizations.
