The role offered is that of a Banquet Server, a critical position responsible for delivering excellent customer service at special functions and events hosted at American Golf. The Banquet Server will play a vital role in greeting, assisting, and serving guests and members, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience. This position demands strong communication skills, a friendly and approachable demeanor, and the ability to handle tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Banquet Servers support Banquet Managers by setting up banquet rooms with necessary materials such as glassware, service ware, and linens, and are responsible for serving beverages and menu courses in the correct order. The role requires adherence to all regulations concerning the service of alcoholic beverages and a commitment to maintaining high service standards throughout events. Working conditions include varied schedules that may involve evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the evolving needs of the business. Physical activity such as standing for extended periods, walking, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally rearranging tables or furniture is typical. The ability to stay composed under pressure and maintain effective communication with team members and guests is essential. Job Qualifications
- must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages, applicable state card or certificate must be provided if required by state law
- effective communication skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
- high school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
Job Duties
- assist banquet managers in welcoming, serving, and providing a positive experience to members and guests during banquet functions
- setup banquet room as requested by the supervisor to include glassware, service ware, and linen
- attend roll call meetings prior to banquet kick off to learn responsibilities and expectations
- serve beverages and menu courses in appropriate order
- remove plates, service ware, and glassware as guests and members finish their courses
- abide by all corporate act, laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
- replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests and members to ensure they are satisfied
- perform other related functions that may be assigned
