Job Description

Renaissance Baton Rouge is a premier full-service hotel located conveniently just 15 miles from the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. As part of the distinguished Marriott portfolio, Renaissance Baton Rouge uniquely blends the charm of Southern hospitality with modern upscale décor and a wide range of convenient amenities designed to provide guests with an exceptional lodging experience. The hotel serves as an ideal destination for both business and leisure travelers, offering close proximity to popular attractions like the Mall of Louisiana, Perkins Rowe, Louisiana State University, and the Country Club of Louisiana. Guests enjoy comfortable, spacious rooms and suites outfitted with luxurious bedding, flat-panel televisions, and mini-refrigerators, ensuring a restful and refreshing stay. The hotel also features an on-site restaurant and room service, delivering a well-rounded upscale dining experience. Renaissance Baton Rouge is committed to a welcoming and inclusive environment, striving for excellence in guest services and employee satisfaction alike. This employer actively promotes equal opportunity practices and participates in E-Verify, reinforcing a dedication to diversity and lawful employment standards.

The Banquet Server role at Renaissance Baton Rouge is a full-time position integral to maintaining the high standards of guest service expected at the hotel’s banquet functions. Banquet servers play a critical part in setting the tone for memorable events by ensuring the timely and professional setup, service, and breakdown of banquet food and beverage operations. This position requires individuals who are not only attentive, friendly, and courteous but who can also efficiently manage preparatory tasks and side duties to support a seamless service environment. A strong understanding of reading and interpreting Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and menu familiarity for the assigned functions are essential, as these servers must be well-prepared to meet event-specific details and guest preferences.

Key responsibilities include setting tables to hotel standards, serving guests with professionalism and courtesy, and handling guest concerns or complaints with poise—escalating issues to management as necessary. The role also encompasses maintaining cleanliness and order in banquet storage areas, ensuring supplies are stocked and ready, and performing thorough cleanup after events conclude. Additionally, banquet servers must adhere strictly to all money handling procedures when dealing with transactions, which underlines the trust and responsibility vested in this role. Beyond these duties, Renaissance Baton Rouge offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package to support team member wellbeing. This includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, an employee assistance program, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, discounted room programs, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan. The Banquet Server role is perfect for individuals passionate about hospitality and committed to exceeding guest expectations in a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
