Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, offering integrated food service, facilities management, and other solutions designed to enhance the experience of customers and employees worldwide. At the Alliant Energy Center location, Sodexo provides a dynamic and inclusive work environment where employees are valued for their individuality and contributions. The company is dedicated to creating a better everyday for everyone by focusing on economic, social, and environmental progress in the communities it serves. Sodexo operates with a strong commitment to fairness, respect, and diversity, striving to foster a culture of belonging that allows employees to thrive and be their authentic selves.

The role of Banquet Server at Sodexo, based at the Alliant Energy Center, is a vital part-time position offering a competitive pay rate ranging from $15.00 to $20.00 per hour. This versatile role involves providing exemplary food and beverage services to guests attending a variety of catered events, such as meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions. The Banquet Server supports multiple service styles, including casual buffets, formal plated meals, and passed service. Working under the guidance of the Banquet Captain and Supervisor, the Banquet Server plays an essential role in ensuring the event experience is seamless and enjoyable for all guests.

Banquet Servers are responsible for various tasks throughout events, including setup, service delivery, and breakdown. The position requires maintaining the cleanliness and organization of tables and service areas, clearing and resetting place settings, and upholding presentation standards. The physical demands of the role include frequently lifting and moving items weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally handling loads up to 50 pounds. Reliability in attendance and punctuality is also a key expectation, ensuring that shifts—some of which occur on weekends and holidays—are covered effectively.

Sodexo offers its Banquet Servers a flexible and supportive work environment that values work-life balance and professional growth. Employees have access to ongoing training and development opportunities that can transform a job into a fulfilling career. Additionally, Sodexo provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports both employees and their families, including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) plans, and employee discount programs. Certain locations may also offer site-specific perks such as free meals during shifts, uniforms, safety footwear, and transportation support.

As part of Sodexo's commitment to diversity and inclusion, the company ensures equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender identity, disability, military status, or any other protected characteristic. This cultural dedication underscores Sodexo's philosophy that a happy and respected workforce leads to stronger teams and better service for clients and guests alike. Joining Sodexo as a Banquet Server means becoming part of a globally respected organization where everyday actions contribute to meaningful impact and a brighter future.
