The Banquet Server role is pivotal in delivering a positive experience during special functions and events hosted by American Golf. The Banquet Server works closely with Banquet Managers to execute flawlessly the service of food and beverages in accordance with established standards, guidelines, and legal requirements. This role requires strong communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed in fast-paced environments. Responsibilities include setting up banquet rooms, serving courses and drinks in proper sequence, replenishing beverages, and checking regularly to ensure guest satisfaction throughout events.

Candidates for this position must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages and hold any necessary certifications if required by state law. The role accommodates varying work schedules that may extend to evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of banquet and event services. Physical stamina and the ability to move throughout the venue, including standing and walking for extended periods, are essential. Additionally, the job may occasionally require lifting and carrying items up to 30-50 pounds and assisting with venue preparations.

Job Duties

  • Assist Banquet Managers in welcoming, serving, and providing a positive experience to members and guests during banquet functions
  • Setup banquet room as requested by the supervisor to include glassware, service ware, and linen
  • Attend roll call meetings prior to banquet kick off to learn responsibilities and expectations
  • Serve beverages and menu courses in appropriate order
  • Remove plates, service ware, and glassware as guests and members finish their courses
  • Abide by all corporate act, laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests and members to ensure they are satisfied
  • Perform other related functions that may be assigned
