The Banquet Server is responsible for various tasks, including setting buffet lines, arranging tables with appropriate settings, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness throughout events. With a pay rate starting at $7.50 per hour plus tips—which typically range from $22 to $24 per hour—this role offers a lucrative earning potential within an engaging work environment. Shifts vary to accommodate banquet schedules and special events, making flexibility a key component of success.

The role requires a strong focus on guest satisfaction, anticipating needs, and efficiently addressing any concerns to ensure every event runs smoothly. Job Requirements

  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age
  • previous banquet and/or restaurant service experience
  • knowledge of proper restaurant sanitation procedures
  • outgoing personality with exceptional work habits
  • must have open availability to work Holiday Season (December 1st through December 23rd)
  • must be able to read and write in English and have good verbal communication skills
  • basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc
  • ability to respond to visual and aural cues
  • ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • ability to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • able to work independently with little or no direct supervision
  • able to multi-task efficiently
  • physically mobile with ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 30 lbs, and the ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Sets buffet lines and breaks with proper equipment, supplies, and decor
  • sets tables with proper silverware, napkins, condiments, centerpieces, etc
  • prepares and sets/serves beverages
  • serves plated meals to guests
  • removes used plates, glassware, silverware, etc, from assigned areas
  • anticipates and provides for guests' needs throughout entire function
  • provides optimal guest service to all guests and responds efficiently to guest concerns
  • maintains a clean and organized workspace to ensure timely break down of banquet events
  • ensures that future events are set up for success
  • polishes plates, silverware, and glassware
  • responsible for sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, etc
  • coordinates with banquet staff and other restaurant personnel to provide excellent guest service
  • various other duties may be assigned
  • adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner
