The Historic Aldrich Mansion, a picturesque venue overlooking the stunning Narragansett Bay in Warwick, Rhode Island, is a renowned establishment known for its elegant settings and exceptional event hosting capabilities. We are currently seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our banquet team as Banquet Servers. This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly paid position with wages ranging from $18.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and shift timings. The role is primarily event-based, meaning hours will vary with each function, and weekend availability is a must. As a Banquet Server, you will play an essential role in the seamless execution of banquet events by working closely with the kitchen staff and other team members to ensure prompt and accurate food delivery. Beyond just serving, the role demands a commitment to providing hospitality that goes beyond expectation, with every guest interaction serving as an opportunity to make a positive impression.

Banquet Servers at Aldrich Mansion will be responsible for preparing their work areas prior to guest arrival, including tasks like polishing silverware, preparing tables, and stocking service stations with necessary supplies such as coffee, water, ice, napkins, and straws. During events, servers are expected to deliver food and beverages promptly and check in with guests to ensure satisfaction, all while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. The position requires quick thinking and anticipation of guest needs along with attentive service to guarantee a memorable experience for event attendees. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the service areas and proper handling of banquet inventory and equipment are critical components of the role.

Safety, professionalism, and adherence to legal guidelines, including alcohol service laws, are integral to the job. Banquet Servers must demonstrate compliance by responsibly managing alcohol distribution and carding guests under the age of 40. Commitment to maintaining sanitation standards throughout banquet operations, including thorough cleaning of equipment and facilities, is also expected. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in banquet or food service preferred
Availability to work weekends and varied hours
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
Strong communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Must be 18 years or older

Job Duties

Exhibit a high level of professionalism hospitality and confidence when making contact with guests
Communicate with banquet supervisor and lead banquet servers to guarantee a successful function including resolution of guest complaints
Maintain a positive professional and respectful attitude toward guests coworkers and management
Follow outlined procedures to ensure the security and proper storage of banquet inventory and equipment replenish supplies and communicate inventory in a timely and efficient manner and minimize misuse and breakage of china glassware linens and supplies to ensure that no re-usable goods are wasted
Prepare work area prior to guest arrival including polishing silverware plating table and stocking service beverage stations with coffee water ice napkins straws etc as needed
Deliver food and beverages to guests in their service area as well as other areas as needed
Observe and follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service during banquet event
Anticipate react to guest needs answer questions and provide suggestions to event attendees
Manicure tables by clearing plates glassware etc and maintain a neat front of the house service area
Empty trash and place dirty dishes in appropriate areas
Adhere to all department specific and company standards policies procedures and safety rules at all times
Demonstrate compliance with all alcohol service laws as well as company policies and procedures with regard to alcohol service including carding all guests under age 40
Knowledge and use of proper sanitation procedures to clean banquet equipment and facilities including restrooms
Perform all other duties as assigned
