The role being offered is for a Banquet Server, a crucial position within Sonesta that directly impacts the guest experience during banquet and catering functions. The Banquet Server is responsible for serving meals to patrons, ensuring that guests receive impeccable and attentive service throughout events. This is a hands-on role requiring adherence to Sonesta's safety guidelines and service standards, guaranteeing both guest satisfaction and operational excellence. The position includes preparing function rooms for banquet events, setting tables with complete place settings, serving drinks, garnishing dishes, and responding promptly to guests' requests. Other duties include clearing and resetting tables, suggesting desserts and beverages, and performing additional service tasks such as ladling soups, tossing salads, and brewing coffee.

The Banquet Server role demands a high level of engagement and passion for guest service. Servers are expected to follow Sonesta's GUEST model by greeting guests warmly, using eye contact and their names, anticipating individual needs, solving problems proactively, and always thanking guests. Flexibility is also essential, as this position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays. Compensation ranges from $9.39 to $11.39 per hour, with pay dependent on skills, experience, and knowledge. Job Duties

  • Always adhere to Stay Safe with Sonesta safety guidelines
  • prepare function room for banquet function
  • set tables and place settings
  • serve drink of choice to guests
  • garnish and decorate dishes prior to serving
  • observe diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed
  • suggest desserts, beverages and after dinner drinks
  • ladle soup, toss salads, portion pies and desserts, brew coffee and perform other services as needed
  • clear and reset tables at conclusion of each course
  • adhere to Sonesta Service Standards
  • adhere to all Sonesta Safety and Sanitation Standards
  • deliver passionate and engaging service to guests
