The Waltham Woods Conference Center is currently seeking a dedicated Banquet Server to join its team on a part-time basis. This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $26, depending on experience and qualifications. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for providing attentive and professional service in multiple settings that range from casual buffets to formal plated meals and passed hors d'oeuvres. Working under the guidance of Banquet Captains and Supervisors, you will actively participate in event setup, service execution, and post-event breakdown. Your role is essential in ensuring guests receive timely and courteous service, helping create a positive overall experience. This role requires flexibility with varying shifts and open availability, as event schedules can differ.

In addition to direct service duties, the position involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas to uphold Sodexo's high standards of presentation. Physical tasks include the frequent lifting and moving of items up to 35 pounds, with occasional requirements to handle heavier items up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Previous banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state regulations
  • Must maintain a valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification and comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements
  • Food handler certification may be required based on state or local regulations
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Flexible availability to work varying shifts

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide food and beverage service during catered events such as meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions
  • Support a variety of service styles including casual buffets, formal plated meals, and passed service
  • Participate in event setup, service execution, and breakdown under the direction of Banquet Captain and Supervisor
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas throughout events
  • Clear tables, reset place settings, and assist in maintaining presentation standards
  • Frequently lift and move items up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Attend scheduled shifts on time with regularity and perform other duties as assigned
