This role is for a part-time Banquet Server at Sodexo, located at Descanso Gardens. With pay ranging from $25 to $28 per hour, this position offers flexible scheduling that requires open availability to accommodate varying shifts, days, and hours. As a Banquet Server, the individual will play a crucial role in providing outstanding food and beverage services during a variety of catered events, such as meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions. This position supports multiple service styles, from casual buffets to formal plated meals and passed service, ensuring guests experience attentive, professional, and timely service throughout each event. Working under the supervision of a Banquet Captain and Banquet Supervisor, the Banquet Server will participate actively in event setup, service execution, and breakdown, ensuring smooth and seamless event delivery. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds occasionally are important aspects of this role. This position allows employees to develop skills in hospitality, improve their professional service delivery, and engage in a dynamic, team-oriented work environment while making a positive impact on guests’ experiences. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
- Previous banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality experience preferred
- Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state regulations
- Must maintain a valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification and comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements
- Food handler certification may be required based on state or local regulations
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Provide food and beverage services to guests attending catered events such as meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions
- Support a variety of service styles including casual buffets, formal plated meals, and passed service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas during events
- Clear tables and reset place settings according to presentation standards
- Assist with event setup, service execution, and breakdown under the direction of Banquet Captain and Banquet Supervisor
- Lift and move items weighing up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Attend scheduled shifts punctually with satisfactory regularity
