As a Banquet Server at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center under Sodexo's management, you will play a vital role in enhancing the guest experience at a variety of events, ranging from meetings and receptions to luncheons, dinners, and special functions. This part-time position offers a competitive hourly pay of $18.00 and requires flexibility in scheduling, including varying shifts and open availability. The role involves direct interaction with event guests, providing attentive and professional food and beverage services that meet the highest standards of hospitality.

Your responsibilities as a Banquet Server will include supporting diverse service styles such as casual buffets, formal plated meals, and passed service, all under the guidance of a Banquet Captain and Supervisor. The role is integral to the success of events, encompassing setup, service execution, and breakdown tasks that ensure seamless and memorable experiences for attendees. In addition to direct service duties, you will maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas, contributing to the overall presentation and operational excellence.

The position demands physical stamina for tasks such as lifting and moving items up to 35 pounds frequently, with occasional requirements to handle weights up to 50 pounds. Punctuality, reliability, and the ability to adapt to various event needs and client specifications are essential qualities for success in this role. Candidates should have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience, with a preference for those who have previous experience in banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality environments.

Banquet Servers must also comply with local and state regulations regarding alcohol service, including maintaining valid TIPS or equivalent certifications, and may be required to hold food handler certifications depending on the location.
