The Banquet Server role at Renaissance Baton Rouge is a full-time position focused on providing exceptional food and beverage service during banquet functions in accordance with hotel standards. This role requires a high level of attentiveness, courtesy, and professionalism to ensure guests receive prompt and efficient service throughout the event. The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up banquet spaces, serving guests in a friendly and professional manner, and adhering to money-handling procedures. Familiarity with reading Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and understanding the function's menu are essential to effectively perform preparatory tasks and side work that facilitate seamless service. The position also involves maintaining the banquet storeroom with adequate supplies, cleaning and resetting banquet areas post-function, and quickly addressing any guest concerns by communicating with management when necessary.

Job Duties

  • be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees at all times
  • perform preparatory tasks and side-work duties to ensure prompt and efficient guest service
  • read and understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the function's menu
  • serve guests according to hotel standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
  • respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents and communicate with management as necessary
  • set all tables according to hotel standards
  • maintain the banquet storeroom in neat and orderly manner, stocked with all necessary supplies
  • clean up banquet space after function completion and properly store and restock equipment and supplies
  • prepare rooms according to BEO and meal functions
  • follow all money handling procedures when serving guests
