The role of Banquet Server at Temecula Creek Inn is integral to the successful execution of banquet functions and enhancing guest experiences during events. This position involves serving food and beverages to banquet guests promptly and courteously, ensuring all service aspects meet the Inn's high quality standards. The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up and breaking down banquet rooms, replenishing buffet stations including coffee breaks, and assisting with room décor and table arrangements. Attention to detail and thorough knowledge of banquet menus and event prospectus sheets are essential for pre-serving preparation and during service. In this role, servers also handle cash bar transactions, serve cocktails and food during receptions, and assist in bussing tables as needed. Effective communication with the Banquet Captain and adherence to all department and company policies help maintain a smooth and safe working environment. Employees in this position are expected to practice safe work habits, maintain cleanliness, and participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one-year similar experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of beverage mixing fundamentals, inventory and pars, and glass types and uses
  • Large drink recipe knowledge
  • May be required to hold a valid California driver’s license and show proof of personal automobile insurance coverage
  • Preferred hotel experience
  • Detail oriented, organized, and efficient

Job Duties

  • Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Greet banquet function guests in a professional and sincere manner
  • Set up and replenish all buffets and food stations including coffee breaks
  • Set up and break down all banquet functions
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service during receptions including serving cocktails and food, handling cash bar transactions, and bussing tables
  • Assist with room set-up and breakdown including setting and decorating tables, folding napkins, preparing condiments, filling salt, pepper, and sugar containers, and storing tables and chairs
  • Be familiar with prospectus sheet and menu for each banquet function prior to service
  • Communicate any concerns with Banquet Captain
  • Perform all side duties as directed
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the banquet department and Temecula Creek Inn
  • Immediately report suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
  • Practice safe work habits at all times
  • Comply with company and departmental safety rules including proper handling of equipment
  • Attend all mandatory meetings
  • Perform other tasks including cross-training as directed
