Sodexo is a global leader in providing integrated food services and facilities management, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those it serves. Operating across numerous sectors including corporate, healthcare, education, and government, Sodexo strives to create a better everyday experience for its clients and employees alike. At Sodexo, the emphasis is placed not only on delivering exceptional food and service solutions but also on fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and continuous growth. The company values diversity and ensures fair treatment and equal opportunities for all employees regardless of their background.
The Banquet Server position at Argonne National Laboratory is a full-time opportunity that offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.75. The role involves working varying shifts with a preference for open availability, ensuring coverage of days and hours as specified during the interview process. This position is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere, acting as an ambassador of the Sodexo brand through exceptional customer service and hospitality. As a Banquet Server, you will be a warm-welcomer and an experience ambassador, embodying the high standards that Sodexo upholds in all its dining establishments.
In this role, you will be serving food and beverages to patrons at counters and tables within various dining settings such as coffee shops, lunchrooms, and banquet events. Your responsibilities will include presenting menus, answering customer inquiries, taking and relaying orders accurately to the kitchen, and ensuring timely and respectful service. As the face of Sodexo during events, you will help create memorable dining experiences that meet client expectations and needs.
The role requires a team-oriented individual who is adaptable, reliable, and committed to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment. While experience in food service is beneficial, candidates with 0 to 1 year of related experience are welcomed, reflecting Sodexo's investment in nurturing talent and providing ongoing training and development. Sodexo offers a supportive work environment that emphasizes work-life balance, allowing employees to be present for important life moments while pursuing career advancement.
Moreover, Sodexo provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, discount programs, and more. Certain locations may offer additional perks such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and public transportation or parking support. Sodexo encourages employees to inquire about specific benefits during the interview process to understand the full scope of offerings available at their worksite.
The company’s commitment to inclusivity, fairness, and respect fosters a workplace where employees can be themselves, share ideas, and contribute to a stronger, more dynamic team. Sodexo’s strategic partnerships with diverse clients enable it to provide integrated solutions that support economic, social, and environmental progress in communities worldwide. Joining Sodexo as a Banquet Server is not just a job but a chance to be part of a purpose-driven organization dedicated to making a positive impact every day.
