The Banquet Server role at Big Canyon Country Club is a critical position designed to ensure that all dining and event experiences are executed flawlessly. This position involves serving food and beverages with precision and courtesy, interacting with members and guests in a positive and friendly manner, and maintaining the high service standards reflective of the club’s esteemed reputation. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for setting up banquet rooms, carrying out food and drink service duties, assisting with the smooth flow of events, and ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness protocols. This dynamic role requires an individual who can multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while upholding grooming and appearance standards.
The Banquet Server will frequently be on their feet, walking moderate to extended distances while lifting and carrying trays, plates, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally. The ability to bend, stoop, and climb stairs when required is essential. This position also requires familiarity with banquet event orders (BEOs), proper serving etiquette including wine and food knowledge, and adherence to alcohol service laws. Candidates will be expected to show flexibility with work shifts, including holidays, weekends, and day shifts. Job Qualifications
- Prior club or hospitality experience preferred
- 1-2+ years of food industry positions such as bussing, expediting, hosting, & serving with preference for experience in fine dining restaurant settings
- beginner knowledge of food and beverage preparation, guest relations, service styles, and etiquette such as appropriate table settings, the order of service, & wine service
- must be able to quickly learn and adapt to our POS system
- food handler's card
- ability to perform physical job duties such as carrying plates, moving small furniture, & carrying a full server tray
- ability to be on one's feet for long periods of time
- ability to bend, reach, stoop when necessary
Job Duties
- Set up for events by putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement and setting up a buffet
- able to read and understand BEOs
- carrying plates of food on trays and serving guests
- keep glasses filled
- remove each round of plates and replenish utensils
- perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service
- maintain a high standard of safety and cleanliness
