The role available is that of a Banquet Server, operating within a fast-paced and service-driven environment. This position is critical to the successful execution of events, ensuring that all guests receive exceptional hospitality and service, making every event memorable and seamless. Reporting directly to the Director of Food and Beverage, the Banquet Server position offers a base pay rate of 22 dollars per hour, reflecting the organization’s commitment to offering competitive remuneration. The job involves assisting with the preparation, setup, and execution of banquet events, involving tasks such as collecting and organizing banquet equipment like flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces. The role also includes preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads, as well as cleaning and refilling small service items like salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, and creamers. Banquet Servers are integral to the smooth operation of event services, preparing tables with place settings and following precise instructions provided by the Food and Beverage Manager or Banquet Captain. Attending pre-function meetings to receive detailed event briefings is a key part of the role, ensuring all staff are aligned and prepared for successful event execution. Customer service excellence is paramount, as Banquet Servers are expected to provide friendly, courteous service throughout each event, proactively addressing customer concerns and reporting any issues to supervisory staff. Adherence to grooming standards, service procedures, and company policies is mandatory, reflecting the professional image and quality standards upheld by LEGENDS and ASM Global. Physical demands of the role are significant, requiring the ability to stand for long hours, perform repetitive movements, and lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, sometimes above shoulder height. This role requires flexibility to cover various event schedules, both inside and outside the venue. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six (6) months work experience in service-oriented environment
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and carry up to 25 pounds
- Flexible schedule including availability evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Adherence to company grooming and uniform standards
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of six (6) months’ work experience in service-oriented environment
- Knowledge of catering services and terminology
- Strong guest service skills
- Ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely manner
- Flexible schedule to cover events
Job Duties
- Reports for work in proper uniform according to the scheduled time
- Follows instructions for each event as given by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain
- Assists with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event
- Assists with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads
- Assists with cleaning and filling salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc
- Assists with preparation and set-up of event room when necessary
- Prepares tables with place settings as instructed by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain
- Attends pre-function meeting for briefing of event details
- Provides friendly and courteous customer service at all times
- Remains at assigned station and perform duties as assigned according to each event
- Reports any customer concerns and/or complaints to Banquet Captain
- Breaks down tables and banquet equipment after each event
- Cleans and returns serving pieces to proper storage area
- Adheres to strict grooming standards and policies of company
- Follows service standards, procedures and guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary
