As a Banquet Porter, you will take on direct leadership responsibilities during events, coordinating service execution and guiding Banquet Servers and other porters. The position demands attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to guest satisfaction. You will ensure that service aligns with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), timelines, and service standards, often adapting to event size, style, and specific client requirements. Your role will involve enforcing strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, HACCP standards, and alcohol service policies. Also, you may assist with training and onboarding banquet staff, helping to maintain a high-performing team.

Physical demands include regularly lifting and moving items weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, underscoring the active and hands-on nature of the role. Reliability and punctuality are key attributes expected from candidates, as consistent attendance is crucial for successful team operations. Additionally, candidates must be of legal age to serve alcohol and possess necessary certifications such as TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service training, along with potential food handler certifications as required by state or local regulations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of related banquet or catering experience
  • Prior leadership or captain experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Valid alcohol service certification such as TIPS or TEAM
  • Compliance with local, state alcohol and food safety regulations
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • Prior lead or captain experience preferred

Job Duties
