The position available is for a Banquet Porter at the Hollywood Bowl Amphitheatre. This is a part-time role offering $25 per hour, with varying shifts that require open availability, making it ideal for individuals who can work flexible hours. The Banquet Porter will play a critical role in the successful execution of banquet and catered events by leading on-floor service operations, coordinating with Banquet Servers and other team members to ensure seamless service. The role demands strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.
As the primary service lead for assigned events, the Banquet Porter is responsible for adhering to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), timelines, and service standards. This includes active participation in event setup, service, and breakdown while ensuring an excellent guest experience throughout. The Banquet Porter works closely with the Banquet Supervisor, culinary staff, and service team to maintain high-quality service delivery. Key responsibilities include compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, assisting with the training and onboarding of banquet staff, and maintaining physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, such as frequently lifting and moving heavy objects.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in banquet, catering, or food and beverage service, especially those with prior leadership or banquet captain experience. Candidates must meet all necessary certification requirements, such as TIPS or TEAM for alcohol service and possibly food handler certification, depending on local regulations. Sodexo offers numerous benefits, including paid time off, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, a 401k plan, and more, creating a supportive work environment that encourages growth and development. Sodexo's commitment to equal employment opportunity ensures that all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully, fostering a workplace where diversity and inclusion are paramount.
