The role within Fontainebleau Miami Beach is centered on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the culinary and food and beverage areas, which is critical to delivering the exceptional guest experience the hotel is known for. The position focuses on the cleaning and maintenance of kitchenware, cooking equipment, and associated work areas to ensure compliance with quality standards and health and safety protocols. This role is essential in supporting the operations of the hotel’s culinary services by ensuring that all back-of-house areas meet sanitation standards and that all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
Responsibilities in this role include cleaning pots, pans, soup pots, kettles, floors, shelves, trolleys, crockery, silverware, and cutlery. The role also involves cleaning drains in pot washing and other areas where large cooking equipment is used, maintaining cleanliness of floor mats, mopping and wiping designated work areas, and ensuring all food and beverage back-of-house floors, shelves, and trolleys are kept clean. Safety equipment must be used appropriately for specific tasks to protect both staff and property. Additional duties may be assigned to meet operational needs.
Candidates stepping into this role will be expected to have knowledge of electrical equipment and sharp utensil usage, an understanding of sanitation standards and proper chemical usage, and the ability to communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships with staff. Relevant experience in similar roles is preferred but not mandatory. Job Duties
- Wash pots, pans, soup pots, kettles, floors, shelves, trolleys, crockery, silver ware, and cutlery
- Clean all drains in the pot washing area as well as other areas where large cooking equipment is used
- Clean floor mats on a regular basis
- Mop and wipe appropriate work areas clean
- Maintain all F&B back of house area floors, shelves, and trolleys clean
- Ensure safety equipment is used for appropriate tasks
- Perform other related duties as assigned
