The role of Banquet Manager at Hilton Boston Park Plaza is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering outstanding event services and guest experiences. Reporting directly to the Director of Banquets, the Banquet Manager will oversee a unionized banquet team of over 20 members, ensuring seamless execution of all banquet functions. This position demands a leader adept at managing large-scale banquet operations within a major hotel setting, specifically one with 500 or more rooms and extensive meeting/event spaces exceeding 50,000 square feet.
This role requires the ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, to meet the hotel's operational needs. The Banquet Manager's primary focus is on planning, organizing, and overseeing the execution of a wide variety of functions such as breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, and more. Key responsibilities include supervising banquet setup and breakdown, ensuring compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol regulations, and maintaining communication across departments like Food and Beverage, Event Services, Property Operations, Audio Visual, and Housekeeping.
The ideal candidate brings at least three years of banquet and banquet setup experience in a comparable hotel environment and has a proven track record of managing unionized teams. The candidate should possess excellent leadership and organizational skills, a deep understanding of event service standards, and a passion for delivering superior customer experiences. Job Requirements
- Three or more years experience in banquet and banquet setup
- Experience managing a union banquet team
- Prior supervisory or managerial experience in a hotel with 500+ rooms
- Ability to work full availability including AM, PM, and overnight shifts
- Willingness to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Capability to manage large teams efficiently
