Job Description

The Foundry is a historic and stylish hotel and banquet venue located in Western New York, particularly in Buffalo. Originally built in the early 1900s as a manufacturing plant for railroad signals, it holds an important place in the history of the railroad industry. The building's striking facade and floor-to-ceiling windows stand as a tribute to Buffalo's prestigious heritage and notable history. Having been carefully refurbished to restore its original elegance and grandeur, The Foundry now offers a chic and industrial-style atmosphere that blends historic charm with modern comforts, making it an ideal destination for both leisure and business travelers alike.

Situated at the heart of Buffalo, The Foundry places guests in close proximity to some of the city’s most notable attractions. These include the prestigious Albright Knox Art Gallery, the renowned Burchfield Penny Art Center, the Historical Museum, the Buffalo Zoo, Buffalo State College, and the vibrant Elmwood Avenue strip known for its specialty shops and restaurants. Additionally, this location offers easy access to one of the world’s natural wonders, Niagara Falls, making it a perfect hub for exploring the region. Its prime location just minutes from downtown Buffalo offers guests convenience and a unique experience combining heritage, art, culture, and outstanding hospitality.

The Foundry is currently looking to hire a Banquet Manager to lead its banquet team. This is a crucial leadership role within the hotel, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of banquet services for a variety of events. The Banquet Manager acts as the face of the banquet team and is entrusted with the responsibility of managing all aspects of banquet operations. This person will oversee hiring, training, and managing the entire banquet staff, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver exceptional service at every event.

Key responsibilities of the role include working closely with other departments to coordinate event preparations, ensure guest satisfaction, and handle any challenges that arise during events. The Banquet Manager must be familiar with every part of the banquet process, from event setup and serving to guest interaction. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, they are responsible for event closings, managing payroll, holding interdepartmental meetings, and resolving guest complaints quickly and effectively.

This role demands a leader who is outgoing and possesses a friendly attitude, capable of working under pressure to meet the dynamic needs of various events. The right candidate will have previous supervisory and leadership experience, preferably in hospitality or banquet hall environments, and a strong background in customer service. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as banquet events may occur during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The Banquet Manager position at The Foundry offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a historic venue that blends rich heritage with modern hospitality services. Working here means engaging with a diverse team and a wide array of events, each providing an opportunity to create memorable guest experiences in an impressive setting. This role is ideal for someone passionate about hospitality leadership and dedicated to excellence in service management. The Foundry is committed to fostering a supportive work environment where the banquet team can thrive and continuously deliver outstanding service to guests.
