The Banquet Manager role at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA, managed under the Highgate Hospitality umbrella, is a pivotal leadership position responsible for ensuring the seamless success and profitability of all banquet events at this ultra-chic 686-room hotel. Situated in the heart of San Francisco’s vibrant South of Market district, the hotel attracts a sophisticated clientele frequenting the nearby Union Square shopping district, SOMA nightlife scene, and iconic city landmarks. The Banquet Manager’s primary function is to oversee banquet operations with an emphasis on delivering exceptional service quality and maintaining operational budgets. This role requires proactive leadership to promote business growth, reduce employee turnover, maintain revenue and payroll standards, and coordinate comprehensive event planning and execution. The manager will supervise banquet personnel, ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations, prepare critical operational reports, and uphold the highest service standards in coordination with catering and kitchen teams.

Success in this role demands a dynamic individual who is attentive, courteous, and responsive to guests and staff, balancing customer satisfaction with efficient resource management. The position calls for strategic recruitment, training, and continuous performance evaluation of banquet staff, with a focus on fostering professionalism and enhancing guest experiences. Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with other food and beverage managers and ensuring all departments remain aligned. The Banquet Manager will also be hands-on during events, managing guest concerns promptly and overseeing the accuracy of banquet billing and tip distribution processes.

This position offers an opportunity to thrive in a vibrant, fast-paced environment while contributing to the legacy of a globally recognized hospitality brand. The successful candidate will gain extensive leadership experience, exposure to large-scale banquet operations, and the chance to work alongside a team dedicated to excellence and innovation in hospitality service delivery.
