Job Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in hospitality or related field
  • Minimum two years experience in event management and catering
  • Equivalency accepted of four years experience in lieu of degree
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed
  • Self motivated and results oriented
  • Must be able to exert medium physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate computer and office machinery
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
  • Willingness to comply with quarterly training
  • Must submit cover letter, resume, and transcripts
  • Typical 40 hour work week with variable hours

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in hospitality or related field
  • Minimum two years experience in event management and catering
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Proven experience in catering, meeting setups, and banquet service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Creativity and problem-solving abilities

Job Duties

  • Oversee event management and service delivery for all catered events at OCCC
  • Act as event coordinator and be present at all events
  • Plan and organize catering events including at the Visual and Performing Arts Center and Capitol Hill Center
  • Manage a team of catering staff, transportation, and setup personnel
  • Develop and design creative catered event offerings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the community to expand catering opportunities
  • Ensure excellent customer service and guest loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each event
