Job Description
Marriott International, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, is renowned for its commitment to excellence, diversity, and unparalleled guest experiences. Operating a vast portfolio of hotels and resorts globally, Marriott continuously seeks talented individuals who embody their core values and dedication to service. Within its prestigious Westin brand, Marriott focuses on wellness and elevating the guest experience, ensuring travelers not only feel welcomed but inspired to become the best version of themselves during their stay. The Westin brand embraces a holistic approach to well-being, promoting active and healthy lifestyles among its employees and guests alike. As part of this philosophy, employees are encouraged to integrate wellness into both their professional and personal lives, fostering an environment of optimism, adventure, and passion.
This full-time, non-management Food and Beverage & Culinary position is located at The Westin in Charlotte, North Carolina, a dynamic environment where each team member contributes directly to creating memorable events and exceptional service standards. The role of Event Service Assistant Expert plays a crucial part in ensuring that events run smoothly and that guest satisfaction remains high at all times. Beyond simply arranging tables and chairs for banquets and meetings, this position is about crafting a unique and memorable atmosphere that reflects Westin’s dedication to wellness and exceptional guest service. The Event Service Assistant Expert takes initiative, managing diverse tasks including setting up and breaking down materials, transporting supplies, replenishing bars and action stations, and assisting wherever necessary to ensure flawless event execution.
This position requires physical stamina and the ability to stay active, as team members are frequently on their feet, moving around for extended periods, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing items—sometimes heavier than 50 pounds with assistance. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and professionalism in communication, appearance, and uniform standards are essential. The collaborative work environment supports each team member in their growth and success, while placing guest satisfaction and safety as paramount priorities. Excellence in performance and adherence to company policies and quality standards are vital components of this role.
At the Westin Charlotte, inclusivity and equal opportunity employment are foundational values. Marriott International is dedicated to fostering a workplace that celebrates diversity in backgrounds, talents, and experiences, actively promoting an accessible, respectful, and welcoming environment for all associates. The company does not discriminate based on disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics, ensuring every team member is empowered to contribute their best.
Joining the Westin team means becoming part of a global community committed to empowering guests on their journey to improved well-being, while also supporting employees in achieving their personal and professional best. If you are passionate, active, and take pride in maintaining your well-being, this role at The Westin in Charlotte offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career within an internationally recognized brand dedicated to wellness and exceptional hospitality.
