The Banquet Setup Team Member role at Pueblo of Sandia is essential for the seamless execution of events within the convention center and outdoor amphitheater. This position ensures that each event space is meticulously prepared according to specific Banquet Event Orders, including the setup and breakdown of necessary equipment such as chairs, tables, linens, risers, steps, and podiums. The role demands attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization of banquet equipment storage areas and amphitheater concession zones. Additionally, the team member will assist with food and beverage service and deliver exceptional customer service by acting as the initial point of contact for guest inquiries. Job Requirements
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
- Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent preferred
- Some experience with banquet event operations preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift, push or pull 50-100 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must maintain highest standard of personal hygiene
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent preferred
- Some experience with banquet event operations preferred
- Ability to follow written instructions from Banquet Event Order
- Ability to follow verbal directions as given by Banquet Captain and Convention Center Manager
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
- Maintains the highest standard of personal hygiene
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge and understanding of all products and services offered
Job Duties
- Sets up banquet equipment for food and beverage events and meeting rooms as specified on Banquet Event Orders
- Sets chairs, tables, linens, risers, steps, podiums, and all necessary banquet equipment requested for group events and meetings in set ups
- Breaks down equipment, returns equipment to storage areas, or re-sets room after banquet events or meetings
- Maintains, cleans, and stores banquet equipment in provided storage areas
- Maintains, cleans, and organizes banquet equipment and linen storage rooms
- Prepares, maintains, and cleans amphitheater concession areas
- Serves as initial point of contact for guest inquiries with courteous and attentive manner
- Resolves guest issues promptly ensuring satisfaction
- Builds relationships with guests based on respect and confidence while maintaining an approachable demeanor
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
