The Banquet Setup Staff role at The Edgewater plays a critical part in the seamless execution of events by physically preparing and setting up rooms and spaces to meet specific event requirements. This position involves arranging furniture such as chairs and tables, setting up food stations and decorations, and ensuring that all equipment necessary for the event operation is properly installed and functional. The role demands a high level of physical activity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

This full-time role requires individuals who are able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays, reflecting the nature of event scheduling at The Edgewater. Candidates must be able to work in various settings including event spaces, restaurant areas, and outdoor plazas, sometimes in loud and fast-paced environments. Physical stamina and the ability to safely lift or move objects up to 50 pounds are essential, as is the capacity to operate moderately complex equipment related to event catering and service.

Additionally, the Banquet Setup Staff is expected to demonstrate strong communication skills, excellent customer service aptitude, and an understanding of food handling and storage. The ability to resolve guest issues efficiently and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization is fundamental.   • Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently
  • Understanding of food prep methods, sanitation, and basic bar terminology
  • Ability to operate coffee machine, hot box, soda dispenser, Bain Maries, beer taps, and related equipment
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to use moderately complex computer software

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working with banquet setup, preferably in a high volume banquet or hotel environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and management
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently
  • Demonstrate an understanding of food, food ingredients, food prep methods, proper food storage, sanitation requirements, and basic bar terminology
  • Ability to operate the following equipment: coffee machine, hot box, soda dispenser, Bain Maries, beer taps, and related equipment
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to use moderately complex computer software

Job Duties

  • Setting up chairs, tables, food stations, decorations, and equipment for the successful operation of events
