The role of an Event Set-Up and Banquet Assistant is critical in ensuring the smooth execution of events at the convention center and outdoor amphitheater. This position involves hands-on responsibilities such as setting up event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders, maintaining cleanliness and organization within the event areas, and assisting with food and beverage service. The assistant plays an essential part in both the preparation and breakdown of event setups, ensuring all banquet equipment is properly arranged, cleaned, and stored. Key duties include arranging chairs, tables, linens, risers, podiums, and other necessary materials in accordance with event specifications.
In addition to logistical support, this position demands outstanding customer service skills. Team members serve as the initial point of contact for guests, providing courteous assistance and demonstrating empathy and professionalism in addressing any issues that arise during events. Building positive relationships with guests by ensuring satisfaction and exceeding their expectations is a fundamental part of the role. The position also requires punctuality and adherence to scheduled work hours to maintain smooth operation of all event-related activities.

Job Duties
- Sets up banquet equipment for food and beverage events and meeting rooms as specified on Banquet Event Orders
- includes setting chairs, tables, linens, risers, steps, podiums and all necessary banquet equipment requested for group events and meetings
- upon conclusion of banquet events/meetings, breaks down equipment, returns equipment to storage areas or resets room as necessary
- maintains, cleans and stores banquet equipment in provided storage areas
- maintains, cleans and organizes banquet equipment and linen storage rooms
- preps, maintains and cleans amphitheater concession areas
- serves as the initial point of contact for guest inquiries in a courteous and attentive manner
- resolves guest issues in a timely manner ensuring satisfaction
- performs other work-related duties as assigned
