We are currently seeking a diligent and motivated Banquet Setup Specialist to join our team. This role involves the comprehensive and efficient cleaning and setup of all function rooms in accordance with each customer's unique specifications outlined in the event order. The ideal candidate will be responsible for making sure all audio and visual (A/V) equipment is installed and functioning correctly, working closely with the external A/V company to ensure all technical needs are met. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and order in banquet spaces is a crucial part of the job, requiring tasks such as vacuuming and shampooing carpets, dusting walls and dividers, and mopping service areas when necessary. At the end of each day, the specialist is expected to return electrical equipment to the banquet storage facility and maintain the storage area in a clean condition.
This role demands someone who can manage their responsibilities efficiently and promptly, including the swift removal of bus pans from function areas to maintain a pristine environment. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is customer-focused and has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The candidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic and self-initiative, capable of thriving under pressure. Flexibility regarding work schedules is essential, as shifts may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays. This position also requires individuals who enjoy collaborating within a team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
In terms of physical demands, this in-office role requires the ability to work in a standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting (6-8 hours a day) and occasional standing and walking. Frequent use of fine motor skills for tasks such as keyboarding, writing, and operating office equipment is necessary. Candidates must also have the physical capability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, carry items, and lift or move objects weighing between 10 and 25 pounds. Visual acuity for reading computer screens and printed materials is required, alongside the ability to hear and actively participate in conversations, meetings, and phone calls. Job Duties
- Completely and efficiently clean and set up all function rooms according to customer specifications on event order
- Make sure all audio/visual equipment is set up and functioning properly
- Work with A/V company to ensure proper setup
- Make sure all items and banquet space are clean and in working order
- Vacuum and shampoo carpet, dust walls and dividers and mop service area when needed
- Return electrical equipment to banquet storage facility at the end of the day
- Maintain a clean storage facility at all times
- Promptly remove bus pans from function areas when full
