Job Description
Marriott International is a leading global hospitality company known for its commitment to quality and exceptional guest experiences. One of its distinguished brands, the Autograph Collection, is a vibrant and ever-growing collection of independent four and five-star hotels, each selected for their unique style, originality, and character. These hotels cater to travelers who seek more than just a place to stay—they offer personalized and memorable experiences that reflect the spirit of The Individualist. As part of this collection, each property prides itself on delivering bold, tailored experiences suited to the discerning tastes of guests who appreciate style and adventure in their travel choices. The Autograph Collection is not just a hotel group; it's a network of unique destinations that emphasize distinctiveness and individuality in every aspect of the guest journey.
The position available is crucial to maintaining the high standards associated with Marriott International and the Autograph Collection. The role involves the complete final breakdown of function areas, ensuring rooms are meticulously cleaned, equipment is returned to its designated locations, and closing duties are performed thoroughly. This includes storing reusable goods, securing premises by locking doors, and breaking down goods as necessary. The responsibility also extends to setting up, stocking, and maintaining work areas, alongside continuous monitoring and upkeep of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned stations and service zones. A fundamental part of the role is handling linens appropriately—transporting soiled linens to cleaning areas, separating napkins from tablecloths, and replenishing cleaned linens on shelves.
This role requires a constant commitment to cleanliness throughout the work shift, utilizing clean-as-you-go practices to maintain an orderly environment. Additionally, there is an expectation to assist other departments whenever necessary to ensure a seamless and exceptional service experience for guests. The position demands adherence to all company policies related to safety and security, requiring the reporting of any accidents or unsafe conditions and the completion of all required safety training and certifications.
Personal presentation is paramount in this role; employees must maintain a professional and clean uniform while carrying out their duties. Moreover, this role requires discretion to protect confidential company information and assets. Interaction with guests is a key component, including welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and showing genuine appreciation through sincere thanks. Clear and professional communication with team members and guests is essential for success.
Physically, the role involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handling objects of various sizes and weights, sometimes requiring assistance for heavier loads. The work may take place on uneven or slippery surfaces and involve reaching overhead or below the knees with bending and twisting motions. Flexibility and willingness to undertake other tasks as requested are necessary attributes.
Preferred qualifications for potential candidates include a high school diploma or GED equivalent; no previous related work or supervisory experience is required, making this a great entry-level opportunity. Marriott International values diversity and inclusivity, fostering an environment where associates’ unique backgrounds are celebrated and respected. The company is an equal opportunity employer, committed to non-discrimination on any protected basis and considers qualified applicants with criminal histories in accordance with applicable laws.
Joining the Autograph Collection means becoming part of a global community dedicated to excellence, creativity, and personalized service. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a brand that transforms traditional hospitality into a dynamic and individualized experience, providing a platform for professional growth and development within a world-class company. If you are passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service and desire to be part of a team that values your contributions, this position provides a meaningful step forward in your hospitality career.
