The role available is that of a Banquet Server, a vital position within Boyd Gaming’s banquet and catering operations. This employment opportunity is designed for individuals passionate about providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Banquet Server will be responsible for serving food and beverages to guests attending special functions and events hosted at the company’s properties. This role entails setting up banquet spaces according to precise catering specifications, ensuring that tables are equipped with linens, dishes, flatware, and glassware as required.
The Banquet Server will greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating professionalism at all times. Responsibilities include serving food and beverage items efficiently and appropriately, using hand-held trays or buffet carts. Preparation and arrangement of condiments also fall under this role to enhance guest satisfaction. Additionally, the position involves breaking down banquet rooms after events by clearing tables, removing soiled items, and transporting these to designated cleaning areas.
Physical stamina is essential, as the role requires standing and walking throughout the shift, lifting trays up to 40 pounds, and pushing or pulling carts that can weigh approximately 100 pounds. Exceptional communication and customer service skills are critical for success in this position. Furthermore, the Banquet Server must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses or certifications relevant to the hospitality and gaming industry.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in banquet or catering service preferred
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- physical capability to lift trays weighing up to 40 pounds
- ability to push and pull heavy carts up to 100 pounds
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- willingness to obtain necessary certifications/licenses

- Six months of experience preferred

Job Duties
- Set up banquet room in accordance with catering specification sheet
- greet guests in a friendly, courteous manner
- serve food and beverage items to guests using hand-held trays and/or buffet carts
- prepare and set up condiments
- break down banquet room upon completion of function
- remove soiled dishes, glassware and silverware and transport to dishwashing area
