This full-time, non-management Food and Beverage position at the Ritz-Carlton Dana Point location offers an hourly pay rate of $28.00. The role primarily involves preparing and presenting banquet dishes and buffet trays with precision and professionalism to ensure a high-quality dining experience for guests. The ideal candidate will be skilled in organizing and operating banquet or buffet stations, cutting meats as per guest requests, and supporting continuous replenishment of food items. In this role, you will also prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing. Operating kitchen appliances such as ovens, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare various dishes is essential. You will be responsible for washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, and preparing dishes according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
Ensuring food quality and safety through proper cooking, tasting, and presentation is crucial. The job also includes setting up and dividing workstations, serving food in appropriate portions and containers, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen areas, utensils, knives, and equipment. Adherence to company safety policies and procedures is mandatory, including reporting accidents and unsafe conditions and completing safety training and certifications. The role requires maintaining a neat and professional appearance and protecting company assets. High levels of guest service anticipation and communication using clear professional language are expected to support team goals and exceed guest expectations.
Physically, the job involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, stretching, bending, twisting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
