The position being offered at The Ritz-Carlton Dana Point is a full-time, non-management Food and Beverage role focused on banquet and culinary services. The hourly pay rate for this position is $28.00. This role is pivotal in maintaining The Ritz-Carlton’s Gold Standards of service, ensuring every guest experience is executed with grace and professionalism. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing banquet plates and platters with the utmost attention to presentation, setting up and operating action stations during banquets or buffets, and carving meats as requested by guests. This role also involves stock management to ensure adequate food supplies during service, operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and preparing ingredients with care, including chopping, portioning, and storing food items.
Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, measuring ingredients accurately, and following recipes and quality standards to produce dishes that meet The Ritz-Carlton's high standards. Monitoring food quality and safety throughout the preparation and serving processes is critical, as is maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and at workstations. The role demands a cooperative spirit and a commitment to teamwork, as well as adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. The role requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least two years of related work experience. Although supervisory experience is not required, the successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to contribute to the exceptional service reputation of The Ritz-Carlton.
